This Cockroach Janta Party story has honestly become much bigger than normal internet joke now . On May 23, 2026,official website of Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) was taken down, and founder Abhijeet Dipke did not stay quiet at all .
And in post on X,Dipke accused Indian government of orchestrating takedown . His anger is understandable because according to him, this happened after CJP had already gathered nearly 10 lakh members . For something that started like satire, this is not small thing ah.
CJP was established on May 16,and apparently it began from simple Google form only . But then it suddenly became large online presence, even surpassing followers of major political parties . That kind of rise will obviously make people curious, and also make some people uncomfortable.
Whole movement reportedly started as satirical response to controversial remark by Chief Justice of India Surya Kant . And tbh, this is where matter becomes more sensitive, because satire in India can get support very fast, but backlash also comes equally fast.
Few things standing out clearly here:
- Government censorship of satire — takedown of CJP website raises concerns about freedom of expression.
- Dipke faces threats — reports of death threats against him and his family show risks linked with political satire in India .
- CJP's commitment to youth voices — organization says it wants to create space for dialogue and dissent among young people.
Dipke has also said he received many threats, including alarming death threats against him and his family . He linked those threats to government's discomfort with satirical movement, and said CJP's purpose is to amplify voices of India's youth . His line,"Every attack makes cockroaches stronger,"is already sounding like slogan for supporters.
But government side being accused of aggressive stance makes whole thing more serious . Dipke says movement will continue and they will not be silenced by such actions . He also described government's fear of satire as sign of bigger problem with accepting dissent .
One more angle is that Dipke has previously worked with Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) . Still,he says CJP operates independently and draws inspiration from Gandhi and Ambedkar . So now people are also debating whether this is pure youth satire, political experiment,or something in between.
And honestly, this whole episode shows how quickly youth-led online movements can turn into political headache . One Google form, one viral idea, nearly 10 lakh members, then website takedown and threats… where exactly this goes from here is still hanging in air…
