This Bedford train collision is honestly very disturbing to read because one normal evening journey suddenly turned into disaster . A train driver has died,over 100 people are injured,and nine passengers are said to be in critical condition. Not small thing ah.
The crash happened near Bedford on June 20,around 5:15 PM BST . Reports say two East Midlands Railway ( EMR ) services heading towards London St Pancras were involved in collision. Just imagining two passenger trains on same route meeting like this is scary only .
And emergency services had to move fast. Police,firefighters,air ambulances and road vehicles reached scene,with around 70 firefighters responding. Many passengers reportedly had different levels of injuries,while others were clearly shaken emotionally.
Chief Constable Lucy D'Orsi of British Transport Police (BTP) has said investigation is underway and also offered condolences to family of deceased driver. She also stressed that incident needs careful examination without speculation,which makes sense because railway accidents like this cannot be guessed casually.
