The closing arguments in the Iain Robertson trial are something else ah . The prosecutor John Keenan KC basically called the River City actor's testimony "wholly incredible and unreliable" in front of everyone at High Court in Glasgow. That's a very strong statement .
And this whole case is against Robertson who is facing seven charges, including very serious ones like rape . These allegations are from four different women and cover a long period from 2004 to 2020 .
The prosecutor,Keenan,is really pushing the jury to ignore what Robertson said and just convict him . He said the stories from four women were not only consistent but also very strong and full of details that backed each other up.
He even brought up how one woman described feeling "limp and unresponsive" during alleged assault . This detail alone suggests that any contact was definitely not consensual.
And honestly, this is where things get really uncomfortable .
The prosecution's case is painting picture of a pattern of controlling and abusive behaviour from Robertson . Keenan mentioned incidents of violence and even how gifts he sent started to feel sinister because of his alleged aggression.
Few key things from this trial:
- Multiple allegations — Robertson faces serious charges from four different women.
- Strong testimonies — Prosecutor describes women's accounts as compelling and consistent.
- Defendant's inconsistencies — Keenan points out Robertson's unreliable narrative and contradictions .
But Robertson's lawyer,Gary Allan KC,is fighting back of course . He said that just because Robertson remembers things in detail,it shouldn't be held against him. He argued that having clear memory isn't disadvantage.
tbh,it's a tough situation for any jury . You have these very emotional and detailed accounts from multiple women on one side. And on other side, you have the actor's complete denials.
Now it's all up to the jury to decide what they believe . They have to weigh everything and it feels like a massive responsibility…
