What a strange kind of baseball story this is from June 20, 2026 . Jacob Misiorowski, the ace pitcher for the Milwaukee Brewers, basically threw fire all night against Atlanta Braves, and still his team ended up losing 3-2.
And honestly, that is what makes this game feel so frustrating . One pitcher can do something almost unreal, but if team does not give enough support on scoreboard, match still slips away .
Misiorowski made headlines by throwing record-setting 47 pitches at 101 mph or faster . That is not normal speed ah. His fastball even touched 104.2 mph, which just sounds painful for any batter trying to react in time.
Manager Pat Murphy did not sound too worried about runs allowed either. He said,“He was great... you’re going to give up runs. You’re a human.” And that line feels fair, because people sometimes forget pitchers are not machines, even when they throw like one .
Few things standing out clearly from this game:
- Jacob Misiorowski set new record with 47 pitches at 101 mph or faster.
- Brewers still lost 3-2 despite him striking out seven batters over six innings.
- Team is now focusing on improving offensive strategies to support pitching staff.
Misiorowski gave up two runs and five hits while striking out seven batters over six innings . He was pulled while Brewers were trailing 2-1,and this was first time since April 25 that he allowed more than one run in an outing .
And tbh,the big turning point came in sixth inning when Mauricio Dubón hit two-run single . That also ended Misiorowski's streak of 29 consecutive innings without allowing an earned run. One swing, and suddenly whole story changed.
Still, this season has been something else for him. He had previously been leading league with 1.34 ERA,and after recent shutout against Phillies where he struck out 15 batters, his reputation was already rising fast.
Braves manager Walt Weiss also admitted how difficult it is to face him, because of his extension and velocity . According to him, batters need to stay aggressive against that kind of speed, otherwise there is barely any time to adjust.
But this is where Brewers situation gets interesting only. If Jacob Misiorowski keeps pitching like this and offense still struggles to back him properly, how many more brilliant outings will end up feeling incomplete…
